Queek's Race in Outer Space

Written & Illustrated by Carrie Mortleman

“As a parent and teacher the themes of friendship and self belief provide so much value for discussion both within the story and beyond. Whilst children enjoy this imaginative tale with it’s rhyming prose and vibrant graphics (my own son delighted in the illustrations, particularly the juxtaposition of photographic details with the authors own graphics), parents will enjoy reading this book with their kids for it’s creativity and humour.

A very ‘sweet’ story indeed- what’s not to love about Hellie, the elephant with fairy floss fur!

“He encontrado el libro realmente fantástico.

“My 6yr old son loves this book, he insists on it at least 3 times a week as a bedtime story.

He loves the adventure and magic of Hellie the flying Elephant but he really loves the 2nd book more, about Queek the Mouse, because of the adventure in space and the race and the really cool alien characters.

He doesn't get bored of it.

Highly recommended.”

So Many Books, So Little Time - Book Blog by Kritika Narula

Carrie calls her books 'edible literature' because all the creatures and characters are appetizing. There's not an iota of doubt that the characters she has woven and mothered are adorable.
...impeccable and consistent rhyming scheme produced.
On the imagination scale, this book scores high too! All in all, it is a definite recommendation from my side to all you parents of little ones out there.
Carrie is a very warm person and the warmth and positivity rubs off in her work too!

Of Books & Pen - Book Blog by Jessica Headlee

I love getting requests for illustrated children’s books! They’re always so interesting and I love seeing how the illustrations help tell the story. So I was very excited to get this book in the mail and I read it just in time too, because I needed a serious pick-me-up!
